Motivation and bank bonuses

Sweden has also had its fair share of debate about bank remuneration policies. 1075091_57908641 carrots

Well, actually, as Rikard Westerberg points out in Dagens Nyheter it is not much of a debate since the Banks are remarkably quiet. His conclusion is that they simply do not have any good arguments for why they need variable compensation (sure, they need to retain talent, but do you need variable compensation for that?)

The Banks will speak out even less once they have listened in on Dan Pink. His research on what actually motivates people is truly revolutionizing, and his surprising conclusion that most of us are doing it wrong will take a while to sink in. If you haven’t seen him on TED.com, I urge you to take a few minutes off and click here!

And yes, Dan has now written a book on the topic.
